Matt was diagnosed with Brain Cancer after seizures in July 2025. He has 3 beautiful children, Ryder, Evie & Lola, and a loving wife, Bridgette. Matt has continued to have seizures, but there has been no new growth since undergoing chemo and radiation. Matt is unable to work. The tumors are affecting his cognitive function. While he tries to get to all the kid’s sports/events, he still needs lots of time resting. Matt would love people to participate in this walk to help raise funds for brain cancer research. Penola and surrounds were so supportive of last year’s walk in Adelaide, but we would like to open this up to our community.
Join Cure Brain Cancer Foundation for Walk4BrainCancer 2026, as we strive to rapidly increase brain cancer survival and improve the quality of life for people living with this disease. Our community is at the core of everything we do. We won’t stop until the cancer does.
“Until I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2017, I had no idea brain cancer kills more Aussie kids than any disease, and more young people under 40 than any other cancer. Walk4BrainCancer is so important in raising the funds and awareness we need to rapidly change those shocking stats.” – Johnny Ruffo
“I truly believe that together, hand in hand, we can all make a difference. Please join me in this important initiative that is very close to my heart & the hearts of many, including my wonderful family. Your support will be very heart felt and greatly appreciated.” – Kate Mitrovski
“The suffering my family were forced to endure was huge. I do not want anyone to have to experience the trauma of someone they know being diagnosed with this terrible illness. That’s why my family proudly participates in Walk4BrainCancer to raise funds for brain cancer research.” – Ben Gray
