Thanks to you, our first ever Virtual Walk4BrainCancer has so far raised more than $1.65 million, and that’s just the beginning! You can now sign up to walk your own distance, at your own pace, in your own time and help raise even more for brain cancer research.
Since 2013, Walk4BrainCancer has helped to raise more than $22 million for world-class research, including $8 million for projects to help kids with brain cancer. It’s helped fund 53 game-changing research projects, supported Australia’s best scientists and clinicians, and taken brain cancer from a forgotten disease to a national health priority.
Donations from this year’s Virtual Walk will help fund several new ground-breaking brain cancer research projects, including the NICHE-HGG trial, which will give Australian children with high-grade glioma – one of the deadliest forms of brain cancer – access to a promising new treatment immediately. This simply wouldn’t be possible without you.
It will also help to support the brilliant work of Dr Matt Dun, who lost his four-year-old daughter to brain cancer last year. Dr Dun’s project will investigate the effectiveness of two new drugs against DIPG – a childhood brain cancer with a 0% survival rate.
In total, Walk4BrainCancer will support to work of more than 10 research projects this year, totalling more than $2 million.
So, once again, THANK YOU.
