Elly & Samuel’s story

October 9, 2019

Elly Symons’ inspirational son Samuel passed away one year ago, in October 2018.

He was just 27. Samuel faced his 20-year brain cancer journey with an incredible determination and terrific sense of humour, having first been diagnosed at four years old.

Channel 10 Melbourne journalist and tireless Cure Brain Cancer Foundation ambassador Candice Wyatt sat down with Elly, sharing her own experiences with this brutal disease.

This year’s Walk4BrainCancer Melbourne will also be meaningful for Candice. She will be the MC of the event, which this year falls on the birthday of her mother, Karyn. The world lost Karyn to brain cancer in 2013, and Candice has been passionate about raising awareness for the cause ever since.

Elly and Candice are passionate believers that it’s now more important than ever to get to their feet and help find a cure for brain cancer.
