Each year, Walk4BrainCancer brings together thousands of passionate members of the Australian community to raise critical funds for brain cancer research. Together, we’re supporting the most innovative brain cancer research and facilitating potentially life-saving breakthroughs.
With the help of Walk4BrainCancer, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation has invested over $30 million in brain cancer research. In the past year alone, the Foundation has committed $8 million to bring the GBM AGILE clinical trial to Australia, which aims to revolutionise the way treatments are tested and developed to treat glioblastoma. Last year we launched the world’s largest, brain cancer-dedicated, Clinical Accelerator program to address the funding gap between discoveries in the lab and therapies available to patients in the clinic. Over the past 21 months, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation has proudly provided fellowships totalling $1.4 million. The Foundation continues to focus on international collaborations and bringing Australia into the global landscape in order to accelerate treatment for all. In our search for a cure, there are no borders, no boundaries, and nothing will impede our mission to find a cure for this deadly disease.
“Until I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2017, I had no idea brain cancer kills more Aussie kids than any disease, and more young people under 40 than any other cancer. Walk4BrainCancer is so important in raising the funds and awareness we need to rapidly change those shocking stats.” – Johnny Ruffo
Throughout his cancer fight, my husband Dave remained the brave, resilient, and a fiercely positive man. He turned to me one day on our way to his radiation treatment as said, there is always a path forward, you just need to keep moving. His spirit lives on through our family and our commitment to Walk4BrainCancer. – Chloe Drogemuller-Fiebig
“I truly believe that together, hand in hand, we can all make a difference. Please join me in this important initiative that is very close to my heart & the hearts of many, including my wonderful family. Your support will be very heart felt and greatly appreciated.” – Kate Mitrovski
“The suffering my family were forced to endure was huge. I do not want anyone to have to experience the trauma of someone they know being diagnosed with this terrible illness. That’s why my family proudly participates in Walk4BrainCancer to raise funds for brain cancer research.” – Ben Gray
